House Energy and Commerce Committee Reminds FCC to Follow Intent of Spectrum Act

Last Friday, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission expressing disagreement with the Justice Department’s April 11th submission regarding spectrum aggregation proceedings. The letter criticized the DOJ submission for failing to take into account the Spectrum Act’s multiple goals of both freeing spectrum and generating revenue.

The Committee commended the FCC for their efforts in dealing with the complex issues presented by the spectrum auction, and urged them to stay true to Congress’s intent as they implement the Spectrum Act.
