Title II Opposition Transcends Party Affiliations

On Wednesday, TechFreedom’s Berin Szoka held a video conference with three other prominent opponents of Title II. Along with Szoka, Dr. Bob Crandall of the Brookings Institute, Dr. Nicol Turner-Lee of the Minority Media Telecommunications Council, and Dr. Hal Singer with the Progressive Policy Institute discussed the pitfalls of Title II, and more importantly, explored potential solutions.

While it can’t be said that a universally agreeable solution to the net neutrality debate was reached over the course of a 45-minute video conference, these four experts make it clear that opposition to the FCC’s proposal to reclassify the internet under Title II stretches across political party lines, with shared and unique concerns from each group. Title II opposition isn’t for liberals or conservatives or progressives, but for anyone who wants to see internet deployment and adoption continue to grow, and the internet itself to remain an accessible, dynamic and innovative part of our lives.
