ECPA in Need of Reform

Created in 1986, the Electronic Communications Protections Act (ECPA)was passed and gives any government agency the ability to look through anyone’s personal emails or digitally stored documents without a warrant. We live in a time when most of our personal information is stored online and giving the government this kind of access is not acceptable. As a country we need to the ECPA now more than ever.

Tomorrow April 25th, Digital Liberty’s Director Katie McAuliffe will be on a panel discussing the need for reform. Join us in support of reforming the ECPA to ensure our digital privacy is secure.

Date: Friday, April 25, 2014
Time: 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm (boxed lunch will be served starting at 11:30 am)
Location: Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2226
